It is a tradition in naming a Grand Canyon Dory to choose a name that represents a place in the wilderness that has been spoiled by human development. Desconosido, which in Spanish means "unknown or unfamiliar," refers to those places where we tread and the impacts we leave unknowingly.
This Briggs Style Dory was custom built by Marty Schlein, a long time doryman on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. This exceptional boat was crafted using traditional plans. Check out Marty's work at www.blueskywoodcraft.com.
