Lange Kitchen Gets an Update
Becky has dreamed for a kitchen upgrade for at least 10 years! Demolition began June 2014 and the project was all but completed this past Labor Day. The project removed the floor, raised the ceiling, eliminated wall to the mudroom, and expanded into the stairwell behind the old kitchen. The entire envelop was framed allowing a much tighter, more heat efficient space. The electrical service panel had to be relocated as it was in the inside wall of the old stairwell.
There is no possible way a project of this complexity could have been accomplished without the incredible support of some talented friends. Many thanks to Steve for countless hours of guidance, support, design, problem solving, getting outside help and working on the project. Jon was an amazing sounding board for helping me thing through things like how to approach moving the service panel and all things electrical and helped get the stone floor moving forward. Marc from Valley Cabinet helped in the design and build the cabinets. Coleman showed up at the right time needing some odd job work and did amazing thing from plumbing to supporting most every aspect of the project. Sub contractors include Brody who essentially framed the entire room, a drywall crew, Sean who helped in finish work, Stash who fabricated and installed the counters, Larry who helped tidy up plumbing, and Robin who helped in the HVAC. Other friends and family that helped were Will, Claude, Dave, Dan, Wade, and Rod.
